The 2014 running of the Medium Gear competition returned to the regular “25” course after a two year hiatus. Thankfully this year’s event was cursed by neither snow or roadworks. A bracing south-westerly wind provided a chilly backdrop for the riders. Where there was assistance from the wind there was lots: where there was none there really was none.
Performances of the day were recorded by Hitchin Nomads’ James Gomm who emerged victorious n the medium gear event. Sam Hayes (Team Sales Engine), rode supremely well to record a time close to the hour mark in his private time trial. Alan Crane (Chronos RT) maintains bragging rights over his team mate Ian Markham. Adam White will be cursing his navigational error as he missed out on a medal by a matter of seconds.
Frank Turner officiated.
