Late Summer TT Series (1 of 3) – 20 August 2016

With the Tuesday evening series now concluded for the season, there are three more opportunities for testers to achieve a season best around the Briercliffe 10 course.  With a less than promising weather forecast and the holiday season in full swing just six riders stepped up to the challenge for the first Saturday morning event.

The course had been declared OK to ride after an inspection determined that the chippings on the stretch up to G&M Growers RAB did not constitute a safety risk, having bedded in nicely in recent days since the cancellation of the Tuesday event.  The very brisk SW breeze gave riders a good push to the RAB and the course was dry after a sharp shower just before sign on.

Fastest rider of the morning was Lindz Barral of Equipe Velo.  Nomad Mark Desborough would have edged him out by one second had he not incurred a late start penalty.

Hitchin Nomads Event

M Desborough 25:42 (inc. 29 secs late start penalty); J Watson 25:42; C Corney 29:56; C Jones 31:22; Mark Loosley 32:17

Private Time Trials

Lindz Barral (Equipe Velo) 25:14

[Second event is same time, same course next week.  First rider off at 09:01, with sign on from 08:30 – 08:45.  Leanne Cutler is Event Organiser]
