Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on one’s point of view) the traditional Briercliffe 10 course had to be shortened this week due to roadworks on the Shuttleworth Climb.  A hastily truncated version was conceived and “Cutler’s Killer 8” was born!  There was a slight easterly breeze on the evening which wasn’t going to punish the riders too badly …

Team Salesengine decided the best way to tackle the 8 miler was in a 3-up formation.  The crowd gathered to see them blast out the blocks and set about their work.  The orange and blue train duly achieved the fastest ride of evening, but by a mere 7 seconds.  The remaining 14 individual gladiators then lined up to fight some suburb, tight battles.  The solo rider bragging rights were contested by Ade Gower (BRCC), Andy Saunders and Marc Diplock with only 5 seconds separating all three at the finish line.

Ride of the day had to be Rob Fox who on a road bike with no aero paraphernalia returned a mid 20 including a slight detour.  A great evening overall and a nice mix of time trial machines and road bikes as usual. Come along next week and give it a crack!
