Promoted for and on behalf of Cycling Time Trials – Under its rules and regulations
Principal Time Keeper and Event Sec: Leanne Cutler
Assistant Time Keeper and Club Time Trial Secretary: Julian Pegg
Prop: Paul Riley
Event Reporters: Adrian Matthew and Emily Varley
A typical April day; cautiously watching the downpours from the office window during the day, but surprised to be graced by blue skies at the start line. However, there was a fierce Northerly wind to keep people on their toes up the long back straight. The dry conditions brought a larger field this week, with a good number of guest riders to mix with the Nomads. There was an assortment of road bikes, TT machines and a medium gear fixed.
The wind, and the leg pain it induced, largely dominated conversation at the start and finish lines. Fastest in the Club Competition were Ella Ruggles for the Junior Women, Emily Varley for the Women and Tom Weir for the Men. Private Time Triallist Luke Danckert of Army Cycling had the quickest ride. Strong rides by all, with a sub-25min effort required to make the podium in the challenging conditions.
